Healthcare workers spend much of their day responding to other people’s needs. Their own struggles can be harder to voice, especially when they are expected to keep showing up for others.

In this post, we reflect on Tristin Kate Smith’s story and the questions it raises about safety, trust, and support for those who provide care. Her experience invites us to consider whether healthcare workers feel safe asking for help, and whether they trust that their concerns will be heard.

For those who would like to read her words in full, her letter, published in The Oakwood Register, is available here, alongside an introduction from her father.
